Car stuck on tracks at intersection of W Trollinger Ave. and N Williamson Ave.

A grey Toyota Prius got stuck on the train tracks between W Trollinger Ave. and N Williamson Ave. on Oct. 31. Town of Elon Police and Fire departments responded to the scene. Traffic was held and directed to use two other crossing points, one Ball Park Ave. and Church Street and another at W Trollinger Ave. and S Oak Ave.

Tornado watch in effect until 11 p.m. for Elon

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for 27 central North Carolina counties including Alamance County. The NWS also issued a hazardous weather outlook for the same area. Both are in effect until 11 p.m. Thursday night.

Men's basketball needs overtime to take down IUP in final exhibition

Elon University men’s basketball battled hard in their final exhibition game, before the regular season begins. The Phoenix hosted Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the Schar Center on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Phoenix beat the Hawks 79-71 in overtime.

Periclean Scholars class of 2022 share one common characteristic

The Periclean Scholars program is a three-year experience offered by Elon for a cohort of selected students. Each cohort works with a foreign country of choice on a long-term service project. Students can apply their freshman year for the program, and the newest cohort, the class of 2022, looks a bit different from other years.
