Freshman guard Hunter McIntosh was named the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year. McIntosh was joined by fellow freshman guard Hunter Woods as members of the CAA All-Rookie team this year. Graduate transfer guard Marcus Sheffield II was named to the All-CAA second team.
The early signs of spring also signal the beginning of the 2020 men’s tennis season. The Phoenix looks to maintain its CAA Championship and make it to the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season.
The loss of one match ended Elon University women’s tennis teams’ collective dream to make it to the conference title last year. The memory of losing to the College of William & Mary is keeping the team — especially head coach Elizabeth Anderson — motivated to achieve what last year’s team couldn’t.

Elon’s men’s basketball, which has a cumulative 3.1 GPA, graduated 100% of its players within the six-year timeline in 2019.
Coming off a loss against nationally-ranked East Carolina University on Tuesday, Elon University baseball (6-3) lost its second game in a row to Indiana State University (3-5). The Phoenix was shut out by the Sycamores 3-0.

As Venessa Corbett stepped onto the hardwood in Elon’s Schar Center shortly after her 60th birthday, she was greeted by the same raucous cheering, the unmistakable smell of popcorn and the bright shining lights that illuminated her Elon hall of fame basketball career in Alumni Gym.
The Elon University Phoenix (11-18, 8-9 CAA) faced off against rival James Madison University Dukes (9-17, 2-13 CAA) winning 70-62 on the road. This game marked just the second to last game the Dukes would play in what’s been its home court since 1982. It was also the first game of three on the road for the Phoenix, its final three games before conference tournament play. It's last away excursion proved successful for the Phoenix, winning both games away, and the momentum only continued today.
