Elon SGA hosts Provost Volety, legislation for new speed bumps fails

he Student Government Association hosted Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Aswani Volety during their weekly business meeting to speak on new updates in academics for the 2020-21 school year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Representatives later debated and voted to not pass new legislation that sought to approve $6,000 of SGA reserve funding to install speed bumps and speed limit signs on Phoenix Drive.

University, town to take actions to improve safety in Elon

After students expressed their concerns and the establishment of a roundtable by Elon University President Connie Book, “immediate actions” are being taken by the university following a convoy in support of President Donald Trump that drove through Elon in September. These action steps involve the collaboration with the town of Elon.

Alamance County voters head to the polls on Election Day

As of Nov. 3, North Carolina had 7.3 million registered voters, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections website. NCSBE said it anticipates that the results reported by the end of election night will include 97% or more of all ballots cast in North Carolina in the 2020 general election. Some Alamance County voters opted to vote in-person on Election Day.
