Elon softball splits double header

Elon University softball started the 2020 season with a double header at home. The Phoenix hosted the Elon Softball Classic after placing second in the Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Coaches’ Poll earlier this month. Elon collected its first victory of the season against the University of Rhode Island Rams, but lost in its second matchup against the Seton Hall University Pirates.

Lacrosse downs Campbell in season opener for second year in a row

Elon lacrosse (1-0) routed the Campbell University Camels 12-5  (0-1) for its season opener against on Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix repeated dominance from last year’s opener when they defeated the Camels 15-5 on the road.

County commissioners candidates discuss education, challenges the community face

Ahead of the March 3 primary elections in North Carolina, candidates for Alamance County commissioners answered questions on Wednesday evening at a forum in a packed McKinnon hall at Elon University. There are 12 candidates,10 of which were present at the forum.

Power Five transfers sign-on to Elon football

Elon Football added 20 new players to its 2020 roster as a part of National Signing Day Feb. 5, 2020. The recruiting class consists of 14 freshmen and six transfer students, three of whom came from Power Five conferences.

One dead, one injured in shooting near Mill Point, no students involved

This morning Elon Town Police responded to a shooting at 206 Pinedale Drive, about five minutes  from The Station at Mill Point, where they found two injured individuals. Jon Dooley, vice president for student life, also confirmed over email that "no students were involved in the incident."
