Women's basketball advances in home tournament

Elon women’s basketball downed the tenth-seeded Hofstra Pride 71-51 in the opening round of the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Championship. This is the first time the Schar Center has played host to a basketball conference tournament.

Pi Kappa Phi fraternity removed from campus

In a unanimous decision, the National Council of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity has revoked the associate chapter status of the fraternity on Elon University's campus. Since the associate chapter status at Elon University is now closed, all associate members are free to join other fraternities.

North Carolina declares state of emergency in response to coronavirus

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper declared a state of emergency in response to five new cases of COVID-19 — also known as the novel coronavirus — bringing the total number of presumed positive cases to seven. The state cannot confirm these cases as positive until they are confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Phoenix fall one game short of conference final

The final game of coach Mike Schrage’s first season with the Phoenix saw the team start off slow after back-to-back emotional wins through the conference tournament. The Phoenix showed flashes down the stretch but 20-point efforts by graduate guard Marcus Sheffield II and freshman guard Hunter McIntosh couldn’t overcome the Huskies.
