Volleyball downs reigning champs

The Phoenix (6-8, 1-0) took down the Pride (7-6, 0-1) 3-1 (25-20, 25-27, 25-20, 25-18). This was not only the opening game of family weekend but it was their first conference match of the season.

Report highlights shifting majors and university trends

It’s always been Geoffrey Claussen’s dream to expand the study of religion at Elon University. Now, in his eighth year as a professor of religious studies and second year as chair of the department, that expansion has been accomplished. The University Curriculum Committee has approved nearly 10 introductory courses, six being brand new, in the Department of Religious Studies.

Election Center: Candidate profiles for the March 3 primary

Primary elections will be held March 3 in North Carolina. The Democratic and Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate will be on the ballot. The winners of these races will face off in November during the general election for the open North Carolina Senate seat. Another race on the Republican ballot is Alamance County Sheriff, with incumbent Terry Johnson being challenged by two candidates. Other races for Board of County Commissioners, County Clerk of Superior Court and North Carolina Appeals Seat 1 are also on the ballot.

Elon University students find community through faith

Through a variety of faith-based organizations, Elon University students are finding ways to remain connected to their beliefs while balancing coursework and extracurricular commitments. The Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life is used by students on campus to explore different religious worldviews and identities.
