Women's Track and Field looks to claim first conference title in two years

With the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Track and Field Championships set to kick off this Friday, the Phoenix will be looking for a shot at redemption. The championship for Women’s Track and Field will be held at Elon University for the first time since 2016. Coincidentally, that was also the last time the Phoenix took home the CAA title.

North Carolina educators, school staff and supporters gathered at the Red4Ed NC march and rally in the state capital. They marched to the legislative building to advocate for raising wages, mental and physical health, benefits and degree compensation.

Sophomore Kevin Alvarado knew the first day he stepped on Elon University’s campus as a student that he wanted to establish a Latino-based fraternity. He knew founding an organization at Elon wasn’t going to be easy or happen automatically. But he knew giving the Latinx community more representation in Elon’s greek life mattered.

Survivors speak out at Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night is an event hosted once a semester by the Gender and LGBTQIA Center (GLC) in partnership with the Iota Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega and other student organizations, according to Becca Bishopric Patterson, assistant director of the GLC. Students have the option to speak about their experiences in a designated safe space.

Elon University Holi celebration postponed again

Elon University’s Holi celebration — originally set for Friday, April 5 — has been postponed again until Friday, May 3, at 4 p.m. due to inclement weather concerns, according to Carrie Seigler, multifaith coordinator for Elon's Truitt Center.
