U.S. adults understand coronavirus symptoms, split on future impact

The national survey was conducted from March 16 to 17 and included 3,270 U.S. adults. Respondents were given 25 statements regarding the coronavirus and how it will affect them and were asked if they agreed with, disagreed with or were unsure about each statement.

Official at men's tournament tests positive for the coronavirus, CAA announces

A game official working for the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball championship has tested positive for the coronavirus. The official was working during the first-round game, according to ESPN. Elon University did not play the winner of that game, Drexel, or any of the teams that played the Dragons.

Trout fishing, self defense and other half-semester classes go online

Elon University is scheduled to have 32 half-semester classes kick off the week of March 23, the first day of classes following spring break. Following the university’s decision to suspend in-person classes until April 6, half-semester physical education classes will begin online.

Study USA programs on opposite coasts address coronavirus concerns differently

According to Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, which partners with Elon University’s Study USA program, classes are canceled until March 17 and online instruction will take place from March 19 to April 3. However, the 24 students in Los Angeles plan to continue in-person classes and internships.

CAA tournament to continue at Elon as planned despite coronavirus concerns

Despite Elon University suspending in-person classes after spring break because of the coronavirus, no scheduling changes have been made to the Colonial Athletic Association’s Women’s Basketball Championship tournament. However, the CAA announced that beginning on Thursday, March 12 heavy limitations to fans and spectators would be implemented.

Disinfectant products in Burlington stores are out of stock or running low

Hand sanitizer, face masks, hand soap, latex gloves, disinfectant wipes and sprays are among the items running out of stock across stores in Burlington. Due to high demand and shortage of supplies, Target and CVS has placed limits on how many items can be purchased at a time.
