Elon professor in Florence calls program suspension 'heartbreaking'

Elon University suspended its abroad program in Florence, Italy after an outbreak of the COVID-19 — known as the coronavirus — in the Lombardy region. There are 21 students and one faculty member who will be returning to the United States.

Suspect in Pinedale Drive shooting surrenders to police

The suspect in the shooting of Maureen Chafatelli and the killing of Nickolas Johnson at 206 Pinedale Drive last week has been arrested. Barry Campbell surrendered himself to the Elon Police Department yesterday evening, almost 10 days after the shooting.

SGA passes bill to replace Safe Rides with Uber

SGA allocates funds to enhance National Pan-Hellenic monuments

The bill — S.B. 20-2.2 — will put $20,000 towards enhancing the National Pan-Hellenic Council monuments. SGA said that these monuments will serve as a gathering space, a place to go during homecoming and a physical representation of inclusion.

Early primary voting begins across North Carolina

The North Carolina primary is here. Voters can indicate their preference for their party’s candidate. For voters looking to participate prior to the primary date, early voting is an alternative solution. This process has been known to decrease lines and encourage voter participation. Any person looking to participate must be registered to vote in the state of North Carolina, no photo ID is required.
