Dodge ball tournament brings people together

Relay for Life and Club Baseball hosted their annual “Dodge for a Cause” fundraiser on Oct. 11. This is Relay for Life’s third year hosting the beloved dodgeball tournament and the second year of hosting the event in collaboration with Club Baseball.

The Office of Sustainability’s next goal for Elon University is to achieve carbon neutrality. This goal comes out of Elon’s Climate Action Plan, which aims to see neutral carbon dioxide emissions by the university by the year 2037.

Thinking like a lawyer: Preet Bharara addresses Elon Law

Preet Bharara, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, spoke to Elon University School of Law students and faculty as well as members of the Greensboro community Thursday night. Bharara’s talk, part of the Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series hosted at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro, centered around his legal experience, and how it informs his day-to-day life.

Car damaged by gunfire outside of Elon's Chabad House

Reports of a vehicle being damaged by a gunshot outside of the Chabad House at 107 Truitt Drive were reported sometime between 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Vice President of Student Life Jon Dooley said in a campus-wide email sent on Thursday night.

Referrals and arrests at Elon rise from past years

Arrests and referrals for drug and liquor related violations jumped at Elon University from 2016 to 2018. Elon is the only school among its peer institutions to see a percentage increase in all four drug and liquor categories, according to data from campus police departments, published in federally required reports.

Local Farm doing its part to fight hunger in the area

The 720 acres of woods, fields, streams and pastures of Guilford County Farm border one of North Carolina’s 349 food deserts, where some low-income families lack access to sustainable nutrition. However, Guilford County officials and community members are working to change that by donating fresh produce.
