Alamance County’s rising costs reflect larger trends

For Tonmoy Islam, professor of economics at Elon University, these are all casualties of the current state of inflation in the United States. Increased gas costs and home prices in Alamance County are following trends throughout the country, and that’s because inflation is more than just a regional issue.

Affirmative action in admissions to be challenged in Supreme Court

Race-conscious admissions have been challenged many times over the years, going all the way to the Supreme Court on multiple occasions. Now, Students for Fair Admissions, a conservative advocacy group, is taking two universities to the country's highest court in an attempt to end race-conscious admissions altogether.

Elon University women’s basketball neutralizes Northeastern in statement win on Senior Day

The Elon University women’s basketball team will look to build on the momentum gained from this contest as the Phoenix look to pick up another win against a Colonial Athletic Association opponent, the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks. The Phoenix will welcome the Seahawks to the Schar Center on Feb. 23, for a Wednesday night showdown. The Phoenix will look to extend its win streak to five games.
