EDITORIAL: 'Political correctness' sparks controversy

 

About two years ago, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Kathleen Parker spoke at Elon University as part of the Baird Pulitzer Prize Lecture Series. The conservative Washington Post columnist was met with criticism from the student body — specifically for her commentary on campus rape — with many students petitioning the university to disinvite her from speaking. Similar events have occurred across the United States, where students have protested the views of particularly polarizing figures.

Elon volleyball loses to Northeastern in straight sets

Elon University volleyball (13-10, 4-7) lost in straight sets Friday evening to the Northeastern University Huskies (13-11, 6-5). This was the Phoenix’s second loss to the Huskies in less than a month, snapping their five-game winning streak. For the Huskies, this is their second win in a row, after having dropped their previous three.

Students play dodge ball for cancer research and suicide prevention

Through sleepless nights and trial and error for the past two years, Solanki took what was once a simple idea of having a fashion brand and made it a reality. Saint Xavier had its first clothing launch on Oct. 15.

Ballads from the Barber: Elon musical theater raises goosebumps in “Sweeney Todd”

Football returns to the top 10

Elon University Football (5-2, 3-1) moved to No. 8 in the country in the STATS Top-25 poll and No. 6 in the FCS Coaches Poll following their win on Saturday over the University of Richmond Spiders 38-28. This is the third time this season that Elon has cracked the top 10 this season.
