Campaigning for Alamance-Burlington Board of Education: Dan Ingle hopes to address school safety, transparency and athletics

Dan Ingle wears many hats. A representative in the North Carolina General Assembly House, town of Elon chief of police, Alamance County commissioner and Elon University criminal investigator are a few of Ingle’s past positions. Now, the 69-year-old retiree is running for one of three seats on the Alamance Burlington School System’s board of education.

Campaigning for US Senate: Ted Budd hopes to address big tech corporations, defend the 2nd Amendment and protect the “sanctity of life”

Ted Budd currently represents North Carolina's 13th Congressional District and is in his third term in the U. S. House of Representatives. Budd is the winner of the May 17 primary election. He received 5,389 ballots, which is 50.16%.

Campaigning for Alamance-Burlington Board of Education: Seneca Rogers hopes to put students first and prepare them for the future

There are a lot of students who don’t have support from parents or have parents who are too busy working to make ends meet to be able to show up and go to board meetings. It is those kids that Alamance County Board of Education candidate Seneca Rogers said he is running to represent.

Campaigning for US Senate: Cheri Lynn Beasley hopes to address the U.S. criminal justice system, reform student loan programs and protect the environment from climate change

Cheri Beasley, the first African American woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, is running for U.S. senate. Beasley said her experience as a judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and as associate justice and chief justice of the N.C. Supreme Court, has given her great experience.

Courtney Geels has seen a lot as a nurse in North Carolina throughout the pandemic. From misinformation about masks and the vaccines to her hospital’s vaccine mandates, it was what she saw, and what she didn’t see, that pushed her to run for Congress this spring in North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District.

An owner of four businesses in Alamance County, Rudy Cartassi said he never had much interest in running for a political office. However, after becoming dissatisfied with the current state of local politics, he decided to join the race for the Alamance County Commissioners board.

For over 30 years, Robert Turner has had a connection with Ace Speedway, the only racetrack in Alamance County. He attended races as a kid and is a multiple-time track champion, most recently in 2005. Now, Turner is hoping to enter an unfamiliar space, as he looks to win a seat on the Alamance County Board of Commissioners.
