Elon travels to No. 21 Colorado in homecoming for Samson, Winters

After losing four consecutive games during one early stretch of this season, the Elon University men’s basketball team has now won three straight games inside the friendly confines of Alumni Gym. While the Phoenix struggled in areas such as defense and rebounding, three-point shooting and spreading the ball around seemed to be areas of strength for coach Matt Matheny and company. "Embrace the grind." Coach Skrosky promises discipline

Walking into the news conference Thursday afternoon, Rich Skrosky wanted to know whether or not he could get another year of eligibility from Elon Football alumnus, Scott Riddle. But when the new football coach addressed a crowd of fans and media representing a team coming off a 2-10 season, there was no talk of wins and losses. "Our whole thing is going to be come to work every day," said Skrosky.

Rich Skrosky hired as Elon's head football coach

The Phoenix has hired current Ball State offensive coordinator Rich Skrosky to replace former head coach Jason Swepson as the new head coach of Elon football. Skrosky coached at Elon as an offensive line coach from 2006-2008 and worked as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2009-2010. Under Skrosky's leadership in 2009, the Phoenix ranked sixth in the nation averaging 291.5 passing yards per game and ranked in the top 20 nationally in pass efficiency and total offense. As an assistant coach at Ball State, Skrosky had a 25-12 record over the last three seasons and helped coach Ball State to back-to-back bowl appearances.

SoCon regular season champion Elon men's tennis releases 2014 slate

Elon University men’s tennis, which returns its entire starting lineup from last year’s Southern Conference regular season Champion team, has announced its 2014 schedule. The Phoenix and coach Michael Leonard welcomes back SoCon Player of the Year and senior Cam Silverman, in addition to his doubles partner, junior Stefan Fortmann. Similar to the women’s tennis squad, the men’s team will travel to the prestigious ITA Division I Kick-off Weekend on Jan.

Elon women's tennis schedule highlighted by ITA Kickoff Weekend

After going 21-4 a year ago and finishing ranked No. 66 overall by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), coach Elizabeth Anderson and the Elon University Women’s Tennis team will play a tough nonconference schedule in the 2014 season. The Phoenix open up against Virginia Tech and University of North Carolina from the ACC, before heading south to Athens, Georgia, to compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend with annually hosts some of the nation’s top teams and programs.
