Burlington nonprofit, Western Alamance High School students pack care packages for U.S. soldiers

Members of Western Alamance High School’s sports teams, ROTC members and community volunteers spent Monday, March 28 packing boxes to be shipped to U.S. soldiers, an effort led by Burlington nonprofit Crosspoint.

Nadine Jose elected Elon University student body president

Nadine Jose has been elected Elon University’s student body president with 55% of the votes. The results are final with 1,817 votes cast in this year’s election. Jose this year has served as the School of Communications senator and previously as a campus programs senator.

Citizens speak against Aspen Avenue construction

At the Board of Alderman work session on March 28, Aldermen discussed a resolution about the Aspen Avenue development, a new solid waste and recycling contract, and a public hearing for a rezoning request. The board has also transitioned to a new schedule and will meet on the second Tuesday and the fourth Monday each month.

Elon University Student Government Association student body president candidates vie for votes

Elon University softball team falls to Hofstra in both games of doubleheader

The Phoenix will take on Hofstra again tomorrow in the final game of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. After the final game of the series, Elon will travel to Delaware to continue CAA play next weekend, with three games on April 2 and 3. The series begins with a doubleheader starting Saturday at 12 pm.
