Luke Jackson

Luke Jackson ‘25 is studying journalism, media analytics and political science at Elon University. Much of Jackson’s writing centers around Elon’s sports programs, reflecting his love for sports onto ENN. When he isn’t writing, Jackson enjoys playing basketball, golf, and disc golf and enjoying Elon’s beautiful campus. Jackson hopes to work in the field of sports journalism after graduation.

Elon University baseball dominated by College of Charleston

Elon faces Charleston two more times this weekend. Elon is in need of a turnaround, as the team is currently second to last in the Colonial Athletic Association, with a conference record of 3-7. Only the top four teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the CAA Tournament in May, which will be contested at Latham Park.

Elon University lacrosse defeated by Towson

The Phoenix is now 5-7 in the season and will travel to play the James Madison University Dukes on April 9 for their third Colonial Athletic Association game of the season. The Dukes are ranked 11th in NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse with a record of 7-4.

Elon football earns bounce back win against Towson

With Saturday’s win against Towson, the Phoenix are 5-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play. Elon faces the University of Rhode Island on Senior Day at Rhodes Stadium on November 20 to close the season. A win against Rhode Island would give the program its first winning season since 2018, when the Phoenix also finished 6-5.

Bend, but don’t break: the Phoenix are ready to fly

Last season was strange for every Elon University sports team due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Phoenix men’s soccer program had it no different. Their very first game of the season against Liberty was canceled and they only played eight games, less than half the number they play in a normal campaign.
