The Kentucky Derby saw Maryland thoroughbred Orb in its most recent winner's circle a little more than a week ago. Sophomore Dave Pons has a special tie to the racehorse that put him right at the finish line at Churchill Downs. Pons' father breeds racehorses at Merryland Farms in Hydes, Maryland.
The cast of Elon Tonight proved to Elon University how hard they’ve worked to stay on this campus during the last few years at their spring showcase May 10.

Students staged a demonstration at College Coffee on Tuesday morning, protesting what they claim is intolerance and inaction at Elon University. "Your silence is acceptance," senior Jasmine Whaley said, starting the protest. In unison, the protestors yelled slurs including "faggot," "dyke," "nigger," "coon," and "feminazi." After each slur, an individual student said: "Don't accept it, speak against it." [div class="alignleft"] [/div] "You are probably more offended by the words than the culture of apathy that allows it to happen," Whaley said.
It began with a bundle of fliers printed with derogatory words and scattered around Fonville Fountain.
