A Burlington man previously charged with multiple counts of solicitation and sexual exploitation of a minor pleaded guilty April 15 in Alamance County court.

Roberto Allen Jimenez, 23, who was initially arrested March 5 and later charged with 20 additional offenses, pleaded guilty to six counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

As part of a plea agreement, 14 charges were dismissed. Those charges included counts of sexual exploitation, solicitation of a minor and distribution.

Jimenez was originally charged after investigators said he possessed and disseminated child sexual abuse material, including content shared through Snapchat involving a minor.

Following his guilty plea, Jimenez was sentenced to two years in prison. However, that sentence was suspended, and he was placed on supervised probation for two years. He is also required to register as a sex offender, according to the North Carolina sex offender registration law.

The charges stem from incidents dating back to at least November 2025.

Jimenez had worked at The Oak House coffee shop in downtown Elon as an assistant manager as of March 2026. His current employment status at The Oak House is unknown.

Owner of The Oak House, Phil Smith, told Elon News Network that he had nothing to add on the matter.

Jimenez had been held in the Alamance County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond before the plea.

Neither the defense attorney, Janice Brooks, nor the prosecuting attorney, Elizabeth Olivier, responded to ENN’s request for comment.
