Elon University police arrest student in connection to an April sexual assault

Elon University police arrested sophomore Lucas Peralta on June 21 in connection to an April 6 sexual assault . Police charged him with a second degree forcible sex offense and placed him under a $75,000 bond, according to an Alamance County court record.

According to police, Downey was driving a moped when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by Elon resident Tyler LaPlaca. Downey was an Aramark employee who worked for Elon dining and was a bouncer at Fat Frogg Bar and Grill.  

Caroline Dean '18 named next Youth Trustee

Dean, who graduated from Elon May 19, will begin her service as an Elon University youth trustee on the Board of Trustees this Friday. The board elected her earlier in May.

A look at the Love Graham Arts Festival

GRAHAM — Dancers, painters and puppies filled the heart of Graham during the first "Love Graham Arts Festival." The festival was hosted from May 19 to 20 by the Co|Operative and the Independent Artist Movement.
