This morning, 1,747 new students were officially welcomed to Elon University "Under the Oaks" at New Student Convocation.
From East Neighborhood to Global and everywhere in between, new students descended upon campus to settle into their new homes for the coming year.
This morning, the Global Neighborhood, welcomed freshmen with smiles and free Elon gear. Residence Life assistant, and Elon junior, Jasmine Walters, said that the goal of the day was “to show students that they have a community and a sense of belonging.”
New students eagerly moved in to the Colonnades Neighborhood this morning. Starting at 7:30 a.m., orientation leaders and resident assistants welcomed the new Elon families in the neighborhood parking lot and helped with check-in, carrying boxes and pushing blue carts.
Target was a popular spot for parents and students alike, stocking up on food and furnishings for the coming year.
Freshmen aren't the only students who moved onto campus Friday. In Danieley Neighborhood specifically, sophomores moved into their apartments and suites.
This morning, Historic Neighborhood was bustling with the sound of suitcase wheels, greetings from peppy orientation leaders and eager freshmen.
