Salvation Coffee gives back to healthcare workers while supporting local businesses

Salvation Coffee established a pay it forward fund that collects money to go toward free drinks for healthcare workers. The coffee shop is selling "Burlington Strong" T-shirts and all of the proceeds go toward the fund.

Alamance County schools to continue distance learning after Gov. Roy Cooper closes schools for the remainder of the academic year

In an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19, Gov. Roy Cooper closed all K-12 public schools in the state for the rest of the school year. Schools have been using  distance learning to continue teaching since Cooper announced the first school closings in mid-March.

NC extends stay-at-home order, as county officials hope for regional approach to reopening

Gov. Roy Cooper issued an executive order extending North Carolina’s stay-at-home order effective through May 8, in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus, which is also known as COVID-19. The original order was set to expire on April 29.

Elon women’s basketball gets a second chance to host CAA tournament in 2021

The 2021 Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball championship will be hosted at Elon University. The first two games of the 2020 CAA tournament were played on Wednesday, March 11. Prior to the start of games on the second day of the tournament, the decision was made to cancel the remainder of the scheduled games.
