Throwing back for Homecoming

The Colonnades parking lot was glowing Saturday night — students covered in glow stick necklaces and crowns holding flashing foam wands gathered to see The Summer Set and Throwback Time Machine for Elon University’s Homecoming concert. The concert, sponsored by the Student Union Board and Student Government Association, was successfully put on despite a time crunch.

Theta Chi fraternity makes pitch to come on campus

Fall of 2016 at Elon University is set to feature new areas of growth, including a new fraternity. The new Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Dan Faill, announced, that there would be a new Interfraternity Council organization coming to campus and now the choice is down between two fraternities: Theta Chi and Beta Theta Pi. On Monday night members of the Theta Chi national organization, executive board, current members and alums made their pitch to a small audience to join the already existing seven fraternities on Elon's campus. The audience consisted of Elon faculty, student leaders involved in Fraternity and Sorority Life, local alumni and other members of the Elon community. The expansion presentation consisted of mainly Senior Director of External Communications, J.D.

Luke Eddy looks to overcome injury for 2015-2016 season comeback

For as long as he can remember, Luke Eddy has made countless layups over his basketball career. But on the night of December 20, 2014 against the UNCG Spartans, one layup changed his life forever. Women's soccer loses to Drexel on overtime goal

The Elon University women's soccer team struck first against the Drexel University Dragons, but a goals in regulation and then overtime spelled defeat for the Phoenix as Elon fell 2-1 in Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.  Drexel freshman forward Vanessa Kara scored the game-winning goal for the Dragons in the 104th minute, her second of the match and as well as the second of two unanswered goals by Drexel.

At Elon, prescription drugs go over the counter and under the desk

Ever since he was five, an Elon University communications student — who will not be named to protect his identity — has been prescribed medication for attention deficit disorder (ADD). As the student got older, he began controlling the doses himself and soon realized he could no longer handle the daily dosages. “It just makes me feel uncomfortable,” he said.
