Local Farm doing its part to fight hunger in the area

The 720 acres of woods, fields, streams and pastures of Guilford County Farm border one of North Carolina’s 349 food deserts, where some low-income families lack access to sustainable nutrition. However, Guilford County officials and community members are working to change that by donating fresh produce.

The Burlington mayoral election explained

There are three candidates vying for votes in the primary municipal election, which will be held this Tuesday, Oct. 8. The mayoral office for the City of Burlington will be on the ballot. Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.

Peter Kiwitt, former Elon University School of Communications assistant professor and adviser to Cinelon Productions was arrested and charged in Rochester, New York with sex trafficking of a minor, sex trafficking of a minor using force, fraud, and coercion, and possession of child pornography.
