The Elon University men’s basketball team started off hot making 9-16 shots in the opening minutes on Saturday but fell off as the game went on, allowing the University of Delaware to dominate and win 70-54. Elon, who came into Saturday’s game with its first round Colonial Athletic Association Tournament matchup already locked in against William & Mary, did not have much to play for with regard to standings.
Elon University students honored survivors, fighters, caregivers and those who have lost their lives to cancer with the annual event, Relay for Life Friday. Of all of the athletes within the Elon University track and field team, one name has continued to stand out: sophomore sprinter and jumper Meghan Wilcox. Senior Jack Morrill first discovered the power in Elon’s LGBTQIA communities as a freshman, after meeting three other LGBTQIA students at Lakeside Dining Hall. Morrill said the group talked throughout the night, staying up until at least 2 a.m. exchanging stories about their lives and identities.
On Feb. 13 and 14, Elon’s Global Education Center hosted a two-day seminar for study abroad students who came back to campus and experienced reverse culture shock or had trouble adjusting back to life at Elon.
The bot in question is an artificial intelligence chatbot called ChatGPT, released in November 2022 by San Francisco-based research laboratory OpenAI. It is not the first of its kind — Siri, Grammarly and customer service bots are all examples of chatbot technology. But ChatGPT distinguishes itself with its ability to answer advanced, creative questions and remember the thread of dialogue.
