Elon welcomed the university’s first cohort of nursing students to campus this fall. The program has been in development for five years with the inaugural cohort consisting of 31 freshmen and three sophomore students.

Vaccine exemptions forms rolled into Dean of Students Jana Lynn Patterson’s email when the university declared a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all students. Wallace L. Chandler, who served three years as chair of the Board of Trustees and adviser to Elon presidents died Aug. 25 at the age of 94. In 1967, Chandler was elected to the board of trustees and was elected a life trustee in 2008. His service to the university spanned more than four decades.
