Updated as January 20, 2022 at 5:56 p.m. to include what offices and services are open Friday January 21.

Elon University main  campus will be closed Friday, Jan. 21 due to a winter weather advisory the National Weather Service put into effect from 4 p.m. Jan. 20 to 4 a.m. Jan. 22, according to an email from Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley.

The advisory is set for central North Carolina and is expected to bring up to two inches of snow followed by a layer of ice. This will be the second winter weather advisory to impact campus this week.

All undergraduate classes will take place online and instructors for graduate courses will communicate directly with their students about classes scheduled for Friday. Law students and faculty will receive a separate email about the Elon Law schedule.

The Elon Express will suspend service this evening, as well as E-rides.

According to Dooley, the opening night performance of Sense and Sensibility on Friday, Jan. 21 will be canceled. Reservations are still available online, however, for the remaining January and February performances.

Dangerous road conditions are expected and caution is strongly encouraged when traveling via road or sidewalk.
