Upperclassmen want more SGA engagement

Last week was a big one for Elon University’s SGA. If any incoming Elon freshmen were unaware of SGA’s existence, the recent election of officers for the Class of 2019 and Thursday’s Call to Honor ceremony certainly made its presence known — to younger students.

CHEAT SHEET – IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL The new Iran Nuclear agreement constructed by President Barack Obama, which would lift international sanctions against Iran in exchange for a halt to their nuclear program, could begin to be implemented by the end of this month, thanks to its recent backing by Senate Democrats. However, the deal, one of Obama’s most significant pieces of legislation during his presidency, and its future in relation to the United States could change with the next President.

Elon escapes Gardner-Webb with 3-overtime win

Through two overtimes, the Elon University football team had run 72 offensive plays for just 184 yards against Gardner-Webb University Saturday night. The 73rd play, a 25-yard touchdown pass from redshirt freshman quarterback Connor Christiansen to freshman wide receiver Corey Joyner, was the deciding play, giving the Phoenix a 21-13 victory over the Runnin’ Bulldogs. “[Joyner] was behind the safety, and so I had to wait for him to get in front,” Christiansen said.
