It is uncommon for an artist to share his or her work before completion. In an attempt to break this tradition, students of the Choreography I and II classes performed their works-in-progress for the seventh annual Choreography Salon.
It’s the bane of every teacher’s existence. It clutters Facebook homepages. It draws people of all lifestyles in with articles like “10 Peculiar Works of Art Featuring Donald Trump” and “23 Moments of Beyonce Realness.” At Elon University, students appear split on BuzzFeed’s attraction.
The Elon University men’s soccer team has fallen on hard times in the past few weeks. After going 9-1-1 in their first 11 games, the Phoenix have dropped three of their last four, all of which, it should be pointed out, were on the road.
For the first time since the season-ending loss in the Southern Conference tournament, the Elon University volleyball team took on Furman University with a chip on its shoulder. For three sets, that emotion got the better of the Phoenix.
Sophomore forward Nicole Dennion entered Friday night's match against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga tied with Furman University sophomore forward Stephanie DeVita for the Southern Conference lead.
We’ve been over the numbers. Western Carolina University has struggled of late.
The last game of this week’s slice of NFL-goodness is the Monday Night matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the St.
A lot of pressure has been put on the Elon Men's Basketball team for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. With all five starters (Lucas Troutman, Ryley Beaumont, Kevin Blake, Jack Isenbarger, and Sebastian Koch) returning from last year, the expectations are high for a squad which went 21-12 last year. "Last year left a bitter taste in our mouths, not winning the SoCon tournament," Isenbarger said.
Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes. In fact, bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell once said perfection requires spending 10,000 hours honing your skills. If you’ve ever been to an Elon University football game, you have witnessed the skills of junior Kasia Luzynski, otherwise known as “the girl who twirls fire-lit batons” during the Fire of the Carolinas’ performance at half-time. While other toddlers were learning the alphabet, Luzynski was busy making a life-changing decision.
Well, well, well. What is this Mr. Jon Lester? Vaseline maybe? Sure, the accusations are coming from a biased source, but there's merit to this given there's visuals and not just text. Tyler Melling, a Class-A pitcher for the St.

Many Elon students were removed from Rhodes Stadium Saturday, Oct. 19, for standing and cheering in the students section during the football game against Chattanooga. According to Elon Athletics, a fan from the general admission section, adjacent to the student section, complained to a volunteer security officer that they could not see due to standing students. Junior Michael Lindsey was one of the students cheering in the student section. "The people in the yellow jackets came down to us at one point and they were telling us we needed to sit down or we were going to get kicked out of the game," he said. Lindsey and his friends ignored the officer and continued to cheer. Thirty minutes later, the officer returned to the student section and informed Lindsey and the other students that their day at the stadium was over. Junior Casey Brown was sitting in the student section a few seats away from Lindsey and was not pleased with how the situation was handled.
Students are back on campus following fall break, but they probably noticed some changes to where they are allowed to park. Construction on the new Inman Admissions Center, opening in 2015, reduced the Moseley Center parking lot to 100 spaces reserved strictly for faculty and staff, admissions visitors and campus visitors.

In the last two years, the Elon University football team has played Atlantic Coast Conference opponents University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Georgia Tech on opening weeks of the season.
Elon University, hold the excuses. I don’t want to hear them. Your poor showing at last week’s football game against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has angered me. “Oh, it was raining and cold, that wouldn’t be comfortable in my sorority sundress,” says the general female population of Elon University. “Dude, that bro Johnny Manziel was on TV, so were the Red Sahx, and besides, dude, we're bad,” says the general Elon fraternity brother. “I don’t even like football, I prefer musical theater,” says another general population of Elon. I said, hold the excuses.
The Alamance County District Court today granted Alexis Gray permission to remove the electronic monitoring device she has been required to wear since December 2012, when she was charged with felony possession of a firearm on Elon University's campus. Gray is awaiting her trial, which is scheduled for Dec.
ELN first broke the news that an Alamance County Judge lifted Alexis Gray's requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device, and Vice President of Student Life Smith Jackson has now emailed the school about it. "Ms. Gray's attorney requested the requirement of the monitoring device be lifted to alleviate her expense for the device and to allow her to move forward with her educational and career pursuits," Jackson said. Jackson's email added Gray is currently at her Holland, PA home and is facing a felony charge for possession of a weapon on a college campus. Last November, Campus Police pulled over Gray's vehicle and found a rifle in her car.
Step right up, step right up - to the North Carolina State Fair. The annual event has changed since it first opened in 1853, but the atmosphere hasn't.
