ELON WATCHES: lion cubs, sharks and a family secret

Turner Theatre is a 220-seat auditorium located in Elon University’s School of Communications. Since 2016, the theater has shown movies and documentaries for students and community members free of charge. While attendees are encouraged to bring their own food, candy and popcorn are usually provided. Here is what is playing this week:

OAKtober Fest

Elon’s Student Union Board hosted a new fall festival Saturday night. The festival, titled ‘OAKtober Fest’ after the German ‘Oktoberfest’, featured live music, food, pumpkin painting, and s’mores.

Colonnades hosts a Burmese-style dinner

Terry Tomasek, faculty director of the Colonnades neighborhood, had the idea to host a Burmese-style dinner for the Colonnades neighborhood after reading the 2019 Common Reading, "Futureface." The book is being discussed in the freshmen Global Experience classes.
