Elon Volunteers celebrates 30 years of community and outreach

Senior Ashley Berman had trouble finding her place at Elon when she arrived on campus three years ago. But what started as an office manager job for Elon Volunteers turned into a community of people who have helped define her college experience. Now, as executive director for leadership and development for Elon Volunteers, Berman says the Kernodle Center has been her favorite part of her time at Elon.

EDITORIAL: 'Political correctness' sparks controversy

About two years ago, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Kathleen Parker spoke at Elon University as part of the Baird Pulitzer Prize Lecture Series. The conservative Washington Post columnist was met with criticism from the student body — specifically for her commentary on campus rape — with many students petitioning the university to disinvite her from speaking. Similar events have occurred across the United States, where students have protested the views of particularly polarizing figures.

Elon volleyball loses to Northeastern in straight sets

Elon University volleyball (13-10, 4-7) lost in straight sets Friday evening to the Northeastern University Huskies (13-11, 6-5). This was the Phoenix’s second loss to the Huskies in less than a month, snapping their five-game winning streak. For the Huskies, this is their second win in a row, after having dropped their previous three.
