Alexis Gray Update

ELN first broke the news that an Alamance County Judge lifted Alexis Gray's requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device, and Vice President of Student Life Smith Jackson has now emailed the school about it. "Ms. Gray's attorney requested the requirement of the monitoring device be lifted to alleviate her expense for the device and to allow her to move forward with her educational and career pursuits," Jackson said. Jackson's email added Gray is currently at her Holland, PA home and is facing a felony charge for possession of a weapon on a college campus. Last November, Campus Police pulled over Gray's vehicle and found a rifle in her car.

Skeptic Magazine founding publisher’s Whitley talk hits capacity, students locked out

Raw Chicken Served in Lakeside Dining Hall

Complaints about Elon's dining services continue; the most recent one at Lakeside Dining Hall. "It was so gross." Jessica Trinidad cut into an unexpected dinner last week at Lakeside Dining Hall. "They gave it to me and when I was cutting into it, it was completely raw on the inside," Trinidad said. An Aramark worker served her raw chicken and when Trinidad brought it back, she was even more surprised by the response. "She responded with she already knew," Trinidad said.

'Breaking Bad' creator: Don't fear the cliffhanger

Millions of Americans have spent Sunday nights on meth for the past five years. This past Sunday, there were about 10.3 million. According to Nielsen ratings, that’s how many viewers tuned into the series finale of the AMC network’s wildly popular drama series “Breaking Bad.” This is coming off the show’s big win last week at the Emmys, where it (finally) took home the trophy for Outstanding Drama Series over the likes of “Homeland” and Netflix darling “House of Cards.” People love “Breaking Bad,” that much is obvious.

Letter to the Editor: Elon SLIC Alliance on Chick-fil-A

On behalf of a group of disappointed students, we would like to voice some criticism of the recent cover story about Chick-fil-A’s reopening. While the article does provide a good summary of last year’s Chick-fil-A controversy, it fails to address the full and current range of opinions on Elon’s campus. The problem with this coverage is that all of the students who voiced opposition to Chick-fil-A that were represented in the article graduated last year, while a number of the students who voiced support in the article were current students.

Elon University physics major explores connection between quantum, classical physics in SURF project

Junior Muhammad Awal Tahiru’s project for this year’s Student Undergraduate Research Forum is focusing on how small-scale things move and how to bridge together quantum physics and classical physics. Classical physics deals with the predictable behavior of human-scale objects; whereas, quantum physics deals with probabilities of the smaller, atomic world of particles. These two types don’t always fit together, according to chair of the department of physics and astronomy Martin Kamela, who served as Tahiru’s research mentor.

Belk Library to add neuroinclusive spaces guided by student research

Over the summer of 2026, Elon’s Carole Grotnes Belk Library will create two new neuroinclusive spaces to better support diverse learning needs, building on the success of two classrooms in Lindner Hall that have been in use throughout the school year.These spaces are a result of research conducted by students: senior Kira Campagna, junior Benjamin Krasnow, and junior Kaz Kelly, who are studying what makes a classroom accessible and effective for all learners.
