Volleyball can’t handle Terriers and Paladins in road rematches

On Friday and Saturday Nov. 8 and 9, the Elon University volleyball team played its final road games of the regular season and fell to Wofford College 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20) and Furman University 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-19). The Phoenix are now 7-7 in Southern Conference play, and fifth in the conference standings. In the first set against the Terriers, Wofford tied the game at 8-all after a kill by senior middle blocker Wendy Burnett.

It seems like just yesterday I was looking forward to Fall Break, and now it’s November. Suddenly my teachers are starting to talk about finals, I have to register for classes next semester and my mother is emailing me my plane tickets to go back home.

Elon women's soccer searching for first SoCon finals berth on last chance

Ahead of the Elon women's soccer team in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament against sixth-seeded Wofford is a match that poses a serious threat to Elon's tournament life, but also a resemblance of the 2012 semifinal. Last season, Elon bowed out against eighth-seeded Georgia Southern in the waning seconds of double overtime. In the match, Georgia Southern, defense kept the Elon offense at bay.
