The spring dumpling making event was one of the final events the Asian Pacific Student Association hosted this April in honor of Elon University celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Hosted by the Gender and LGBTQIA Center, Lavender Graduation is a ceremony that honors graduating students who identify within the LGBTQIA communities. With 48 students participating, the 2022 celebration had the largest class of graduates in the event’s history.
Entering the ninth inning against the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks, the Elon University baseball team trailed 1-0. However, a late rally propelled Elon to a 2-1 win, ending a three-game losing streak.
Alamance County had 30 textile mills running by the end of the 20th Century according to the Textile Heritage Museum. Elon University history professor Mary Jo Festle thinks textile mills played a big part in forming the values of Alamance County that can still be seen today.
With the win, Elon advances to play top seeded College of Charleston tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the semifinals. Charleston defeated Hofstra University 4-0 in its quarterfinal match and beat Elon 5-2 on March 15 in Charleston.
During early voting, registered voters can go to any polling place in their district to vote until May 14. On election day this is not the case and voters should go to their registered polling place. Registered voters can also send in an absentee ballot until May 10.
Student Body President Nadine Jose also introduced the appointment of four additional students to vacant positions within SGA. The final SGA business meeting of the semester will be next Thursday, May 5.

The Elon University Gender and LGBTQIA Center held its annual Spring Pride event this afternoon on Medallion Plaza. The event was open to the Elon community, with the purpose of helping to educate the community on LGBTQIA identities.
The three-car collision was cleared as of 6:15 p.m., according to the Elon University Police Department.
Over 50 Elon University students will come together on April 28 to showcase their talents, skills and other gifts for a special talent show — “Elon Elite.” From live singing and band performances to fire throwing, this talent will showcase students’ special skills. But it’s also about raising money for those in need.
Over 200 students presented this year at the 29th annual Spring Undergraduate Research Forum, or SURF Day. While communications students are not required to do research, one communications major went the extra mile.
The fourth place finish for Elon is one spot better than the team’s finish at this tournament last season, which was also played at the Dataw Island Club-Cotton Dike Course.

The seeds for the tournament will be revealed later this week. Elon will play its quarterfinal match on Friday at either 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. The semifinal matches will take place on Saturday and the championship match will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Board of Aldermen also held a public hearing to consider changing the name from Board of Aldermen to Town Council. No residents made public comments, and this change will be voted on during the regular meeting
Elon’s tee times for tomorrow’s final round begin at 9:12 a.m. Callejo Ropero will be the first Elon player to tee off and Risner will be the last at 10 a.m.
Sophomore forward Michael Graham announced on Instagram that he will transfer to play basketball at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles next year. Loyola Marymount is a member of the West Coast Conference and went 11-18 last season.
