On March 6, 2017, Offstein was hit while crossing University Drive at O’Kelly Avenue and sustained multiple serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. Last spring, SGA implemented Zagster on Elon's campus–a bike-rental program that allowed students to borrow a bike for three hours at a time from stations at Moseley and Danieley. The program was recently discontinued due to a lack of ridership.
