Football falls behind quickly in 34-13 loss to William & Mary

The Elon University football team gave itself a deficit it could not overcome, falling to No. 12 College of William and Mary 34-13 Saturday in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action. “I didn’t think our energy was quite what it needed to be from the start,” head coach Rich Skrosky said.

Elon offense leads way in exhibition win

The Elon University men's basketball team used a strong first half and an impressive debut by freshman Dainan Swoope to run past Division III William Peace University 95-73 in an exhibition game Thursday night at Alumni Gym. The Phoenix came out flying, jumping out to a 14-point lead less than eight minutes in and frustrating William Peace with a fluid motion offense and crisp passing game. Swoope scored a game-high 23 points for the Phoenix while senior guard Tanner Samson scored 14 points and freshman Tyler Siebring added 11 points and eight rebounds in the victory. Throughout the night Elon used a variety of sets, rotating players in and out with frequency.

Men's basketball prepares for season with exhibition win

The Elon University men's basketball team flashed its offensive prowess Thursday, shooting 58.8-percent in the first half in a  victory over William Peace University. The Phoenix shot 58.8-percent from the field in the first half, with 20 baskets spread across 10 players in the half.
