It's time to right the ship that is Elon men's basketball

After losing the final seven games of the season and bowing out of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament in 40 minutes, the Elon University men’s basketball team is left wondering what happened.  Picked to finish third in the league and having all starters return from last year, it seemed impossible for the Phoenix to finish at the bottom of the league. But after a seven-point loss to the University of Delaware March 3, that’s exactly what happened.

Elon University men’s basketball had an up and – mostly – down year. After being picked to finish third in the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA), the team went out in quiet fashion, losing in the first round of the CAA tournament in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Elon University cross country runner Molly Offstein continues to make progress in her recovery after being struck by a car while jogging one year ago. On March 6, 2017, Offstein was hit while crossing University Drive at O’Kelly Avenue and sustained multiple serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. While 365 days have gone by, the cross country runners are always thinking of their teammate.

Zagster bicycle-sharing program comes to an end

Last spring, SGA implemented Zagster on Elon's campus–a bike-rental program that allowed students to borrow a bike for three hours at a time from stations at Moseley and Danieley. The program was recently discontinued due to a lack of ridership.

Elon men bow out in first round of CAA Tournament

The Elon University men’s basketball team’s season concluded Saturday night, March 3, when the Phoenix fell to the University of Delaware 86-79 in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament.  Elon was unable to stop a hot-handed Blue Hen team who finished the game shooting just over 57 percent from the field. Sophomore guard Ryan Daly and junior forward Eric Carter finished with 23 and 20 points, respectively.

He doesn't just count his caloric intake, watch his nutrition, keep track of his protein and lift heavy weights to stay in shape or play a sport, he is preparing to compete and show off his razor-cut physique in a World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF) competition in May. 

Phoenix victory over the Tribe leaves women undefeated in Alumni Gym

It was the last game in Alumni Gym for Elon women's basketball, and the team went out with a bang.  The Phoenix defeated the Tribe by 21 points, making a comeback from their last game against William and Mary on Jan. 20.  This game makes the team's ninth straight win—and their 18th consecutive win in Alumni Gym— making them undefeated this season on their home court.

"The national Never Again movement to stop school shootings came to Elon University’s campus tonight. Students Brendan Duff and Theresa Prayther, alumni of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School organized a vigil in honor of the 17 people who died at Parkland High School on Feb. 14. "
