Rich Skrosky hired as Elon's head football coach
The Phoenix has hired current Ball State offensive coordinator Rich Skrosky to replace former head coach Jason Swepson as the new head coach of Elon football. Skrosky coached at Elon as an offensive line coach from 2006-2008 and worked as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2009-2010. Under Skrosky's leadership in 2009, the Phoenix ranked sixth in the nation averaging 291.5 passing yards per game and ranked in the top 20 nationally in pass efficiency and total offense. As an assistant coach at Ball State, Skrosky had a 25-12 record over the last three seasons and helped coach Ball State to back-to-back bowl appearances.
