Senior class president Sean Barry and senior class vice president Robert Danis announced SGA's Election results this afternoon in Moseley Center. The results: The amendments to the constitution passed, 1677 YES votes, to 386 NO votes.
This week hundreds of Elon students will print their resumes, iron their best business casual, and march confidently into Alumni Gym for the annual spring Job and Internship Expo, hosted by the Student Professional Development Center (SPDC). For most students across majors and intended career paths, their job search will be a combination of job fairs, networking and submitting applications. According to a White Paper from the President's Student Leadership Advisory Council, the new McEwen Dining Hall will have the motto, "A place where the Elon community will gather, engage and nourish." There will be at least five new food options in the renovated McEwen Dining Hall, expected to be complete by Fall 2017, according to Elon Dining. A new concept called, "Home & Away," is set to offer home-cooked style meals and pasta options. "Green & Grains" is a concept that is to serve meals including salads with protein, as well as other vegetarian dishes, according to the President's Student Leadership Advisory Council. A dining option called "Knead," with options similar to what students may find at Panera Bread, is also set to be a part of the renovated McEwen Dining Hall. "Clean Juice," a smoothie and cold-pressed juice location is set to be available through Elon Dining's Meal Exchange program. According to the report, Student Government Association Senators were provided with a survey on Elon Dining options.
After Feb. 25’s home loss to the College of William & Mary, a close game that left the Elon University men’s basketball team believing they could have won, head coach Matt Matheny shook his head in disbelief. Two Elon University women's basketball seniors are a part of the 75-person group that will attend the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) "So You Want To be A Coach" program. Senior guards Jospeha Mbouma and Nicole Razor will travel to Indianapolis to participate in a three-day workshop April 1-3. “‘So You Want To Be A Coach’ is a premier program for student athletes who want to transition into the field of coaching,” said Elon head coach Charlotte Smith.

In her freshman season for the Elon University women’s tennis team, Erica Braschi went 13-4 in singles out of the No. 3 and 4 slots, one of many bright spots in a strong season for the Phoenix. Amid injuries and a schedule that has featured six ranked opponents, the Phoenix have failed to channel last season’s success, sporting a 2-8 record. Along the way Braschi has moved up to the No. 2 singles slot.
Two Elon University parents have donated the gift for the naming rights of the expansion to the Love School of Business. Elon announced Tuesday that Jim and Beth Sankey of Charlotte donated the naming gift and that the 30,000-square-foot building will be named for Jim Sankey’s father, the late Richard W. Sankey.
