Abortion on the ballot

The debate over abortion rights has become inseparable from this year’s midterm election campaigns, with 50% U.S. voters reporting they are more motivated to vote this fall because the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, according to recent polling from the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Elon University’s Active Minds hosts walk for suicide prevention

 In collaboration with Alpha Omicron Pi, the Walk for Suicide Prevention was organized to increase mental health awareness throughout the Elon community and featured tables hosted by various organizations and local businesses. Along with Active Minds, which raised nearly $1,500, AOII, Smitty’s Ice Cream, Phoenix Free, Counseling Services and Nate’s Cookies had tables at the walk to show their support for mental health awareness.

Billy D’s officially opens at Elon University

The new retail location was originally set to open at the beginning of fall semester, but was delayed due to issues with the general contractor, according to head chef and owner William Dissen. The location  soft launched Oct. 5 and will be open until 10 p.m. today.

Third provost candidate presents at Elon University

Robert Aguirre, the third and final provost candidate, presented to Elon University students, faculty and staff Oct. 6. He focused on his work as the dean of the College of Arts and Letters at James Madison University, and how that fits in with Elon’s strategic plan.
