Elon University campus will be slowing down as Fall Break begins after classes Oct. 12 and manystudents will use the break to travel off campus. And while most areas on campus are closing, the Moseley Center will stay open.

The Moseley Center operations on campus continue with abbreviated hours closing at 5 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. The center will be providing a shuttle service both to the airport and back to campus at the end of the break. Though ticket reservations are already closed for Fall Break, students may still be able to book the shuttle service depending on availability. For more information, students can visit the Moseley Center front desk or call (336) 278-7215.

Elon senior and Moseley Center Van Manager Grace Clift oversees transportation on campus and helps to facilitate the Moseley shuttles. She said it’s a great option for students who do not have cars on campus and would be otherwise unable to get to the airport themselves.

“It’s a really great opportunity, you’re having a one way guaranteed drop off and pick up both ways,” Clift said. “It’s easy, we try to make it as simple as we can for students.”

As of Oct. 9, about 150 students have scheduled a departure for fall break, according to Michael Williams, director of the Moseley Center.

“We have seen an increase in students using this service compared to Fall Break last year,” Clift said.

The shuttles will take students round trip to Raleigh-Durham International Airport for $50 and to Piedmont Triad International Airport for $40. These tickets are nonrefundable.

On Oct.12, transportation to RDU and GSO will leave at 8 a.m., noon and 4 p.m. On Oct. 13, transportation to RDU and GSO will leave at 8 a.m. and noon. On Oct.16, transportation to Elon from RDU and GSO will be at 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The shuttle services will also be offered during other major breaks on campus, such as Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks. The registration deadline for Thanksgiving Break is Nov. 7 and the deadline for Winter Break is Nov. 27.

“We encourage students to register ahead of time,” Clift said. “If you know where you are going for Thanksgiving Break, for Winter Break, go ahead and book the shuttles now so that we make sure we can serve the student population as much as they need.”
