Interest rates, gas prices and a high demand for home building. For Tonmoy Islam, professor of economics at Elon University, these are all casualties of the current state of inflation in the United States. Increased gas costs and home prices in Alamance County are following trends throughout the country, and that’s because inflation is more than just a regional issue.
This was the first of three “Queering the Stage” workshops brought to Elon University by junior Jack Morrill’s Lumen project. His ultimate goal is to bring queer artists and theater professionals to Elon through a series of interactive Zooms to engage with students and faculty.

Now, Students for Fair Admissions, a conservative advocacy group, is taking two universities to the country's highest court in an attempt to end race-conscious admissions altogether.

The Elon University women’s basketball team will look to build on the momentum gained from this contest as the Phoenix look to pick up another win against a Colonial Athletic Association opponent, the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks. The Phoenix will welcome the Seahawks to the Schar Center on Feb. 23, for a Wednesday night showdown. The Phoenix will look to extend its win streak to five games.
When asked about his expectations for the upcoming season, head coach Mike Kennedy said how important improvement in pitching was for the team as they enter the spring season.
The Phoenix will end its season on a two-game road trip beginning with a matchup on Thursday, Feb. 24 against Hofstra. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. on FloSports.
The Phoenix once again face the Stags on Sunday at noon in the final game of the team’s opening series.
