The Elon University Dance team will be conducting tryouts for the 2022-23 season virtually this year. The tryouts will be held April 30 through May 1 and are open to all incoming and currently enrolled students.
The Elon University Dance team consists of 18 to 20 members and is responsible for supporting the Phoenix at various sporting events. The team attends all home football, men’s and women’s basketball games, and any other community events scheduled by the coach or University Athletics.
Elly Dirks is the head coach of the team and the upcoming year will be her fifth season.
All students that are interested are to fill out the following registration form before April 28 at 11:49 p.m. Completion of the form is required to access tryout information. Tryouts will include three components: technique, choreography and an interview.
All applicants who submit videos will be notified via email if they will be advancing to the second round. The interview process is the second round and all interviews will be held via Zoom this year.
Students selected to be on the team will be required to report to campus early for camp and pre-season practices established by the coach.
