Clinton Speaks at Raleigh in Support of Kay Hagan

Former President Bill Clinton spoke in favor of Kay Hagan, Friday at a rally held in a high school gym in Raleigh. The former president spoke to a crowd of more than 1,200 people highlighting issues concerning voting rights, equal pay for women and political campaigns increased spending amounts. "Here we are in the most expensive Senate race in the country, where you are being invited to tell yourselves and to tell the rest of America whether you're going back to being the state of the future -- where we work together and grow together," Clinton told the crowd. Clinton cites one of the largest problems in the nation to be its state of "political dysfunction" and criticized Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis for his contributions to the issue. "Kay Hagan wants to grow together and work together," Clinton said of Hagan.

Questionable call ends Elon loss to James Madison

After nearly five sets of back-and-forth action filled with strong hits, setters dumping the ball and recurring runs, it all came down to an indecisive whirlwind of confusion at Alumni Gym. A call reversed by the officials became the winning point for the James Madison University volleyball team against Elon University, a punch to the gut for a Phoenix team upstart off its first Colonial Athletic Association victory.

Phoenix loses chance at CAA crown, falls to No. 4 seed with loss at Delaware

The Elon University men’s soccer team stepped onto the field against the University of Delaware one win away from winning the Colonial Athletic Association in its first year in the conference, a feat few teams are able to accomplish and one that looked improbable given the team’s struggles through the nonconference portion of its schedule. That dream, though, came to a crashing demise, as the Phoenix was unable to climb out of a 2-0 first half deficit and fell to the Blue Hens 2-1 on Nov.

Elon escapes at College of Charleston, stays in hunt for CAA title

It looked for the majority of the game as if the Elon University men’s soccer team was going to suffer a backbreaking loss to the Colonial Athletic Association’s worst team — College of Charleston — at the worst time. Instead, the Phoenix scored the tying goal in the latter stages of the second half to send the game into overtime, and was then able to net the golden goal at the beginning of the second overtime to escape with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday, Oct.

It seems we haven’t talked about the consulting half of the picture. The Elon-Queens merger also brought Elon University to consult with ethically dubious consulting firms, including the consulting firm that did infamous financial mapping used in a proposal to turn the bombed-out Gaza strip into a resort.
