International superstar, songwriter and recent revenge-seeking heroine Taylor Swift has just added another title to her overly packed resume: godmother to a beautiful little boy named Leo Thames. Son of “Hart of Dixie” actress Jaime King and her director husband Kyle Newman, Leo was born July 16 and is already in great company.

An awkward interview for all

“Good Day Sacramento” hosts were not very pleased with Cara Delevingne’s responses to their interview questions regarding Cara’s new film, “Paper Towns.” The interview started with one of the hosts mispronouncing Cara’s name as Carla, which was just the beginning of one of the most cringe-worthy interviews we’ve seen in a while. After the first question was fired, Cara was ready to respond with a little zing. “I never read the book or the script, actually, I just kind of winged it,” Cara said, before complimenting author John Green. The team eventually had enough before one of the anchors asked if she was in a bad mood or if it was just them. “No, I think it’s just you,” a confused and laughing Cara responded. Before ending the interview, the “Good Day” host suggested the actress “take a little nap, or maybe get a Red Bull,” as Cara whispered under her breath, “Too far.” Holy awkward!

Elon guard Elijah Bryant transfers to BYU

Elijah Bryant, a starting guard for the Elon University men's basketball team, announced Tuesday on his Instagram account that he has transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The reigning Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, who was granted his release from Elon earlier this month, also visited Butler University and the University of Miami before visiting BYU over the past weekend.

'Friends' Intro Gets a Furry Re-make

Forget “man’s best friend” — these rescue puppies just replaced the iconic “Friends” cast in a mock-intro of the famous television series. This video depicts baby canines, rather than the original human actors, running around in inflatable pools, playing with hoses and proving that even the most basic of summer items are so, so much cuter with a puppy — or five. Crowds gather across North Carolina for third nationwide “No Kings” protests

RALEIGH, N.C. — Thousands of people assembled around the North Carolina State Capitol Building at 1 p.m. on March 28 for the third nationwide “No Kings” protest.According to the No Kings website, there were more than 3,000 planned protests nationwide, with 79 in North Carolina alone.The demonstration was primarily organized by progressive advocacy groups Indivisible and the 50501 movement. They previously held the Hands Off protest in April 2025, and two No Kings protests in June and October 2025.

OPINION: Elon’s choice of infamous consulting groups challenge the morality of its education

The haste of Elon Day’s fundraising is over. Now is an important time to reexamine what it means to be a university using our financial ties. It seems we haven’t talked about the consulting half of the picture. The Elon-Queens merger also brought Elon University to consult with ethically dubious consulting firms, including the consulting firm that did infamous financial mapping used in a proposal to turn the bombed-out Gaza strip into a resort.
