Acapocalypse: acapella returns to stage

This Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Shirley Tempos, one of Elon University’s all-female a capella groups will join Elon’s other acapella groups — Rip_Chord, Melanated Melodies, Sweet Signatures, Smooth Progressions, Vital Signs and Twisted Measure —  in Whitley Auditorium for Acapocalypse, a halloween-themed concert. Tickets are $8 and available for purchase in the Moseley Student Center until Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Elon University student advocates for alopecia awareness

Elon University sophomore Samantha Katz spent over 14 years using different treatments to combat hair loss due to alopecia, but at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to go completely bald. At the same time, Katz decided to start a YouTube channel to spread information, tips and tricks for those living with alopecia.

Fourth Little Free Library in Elon added to Lawrence Slade Park

After an article in the News & Record about the non-profit organization Little Free Library caught her attention, Town of Elon Downtown Development Administrator Kathleen Patterson thought Elon’s community could use one itself. There are currently two Little Free Libraries located in Elon’s parks, one on campus outside Mooney Building and the other placed next to Pandora’s Pies.

Employment rates are on the rise in 2021

Department of Performing Arts returns to live performances

Senior dance major Caroline Boothe is presenting her choreography at this year’s fall dance concert in November. Boothe is one of many performing arts students who have not been able to perform live for over a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. But Boothe said she is more excited than nervous about the return to a live audience and to dance alongside her fellow dance majors.

Transforming the Elon transfer student experience

She submitted an application to Elon when she learned the university had in-person classes. After receiving an acceptance letter, Sette knew she would be getting more than a typical college experience.
