Leonard Pitts Jr. challenges culture of innocence regarding racial bias
Society is locked in a continual struggle with the crime of innocence, according to Pulitzer Prize winner and Miami Herald columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. Pitts addressed a full crowd Sept. 24 at Elon University's McCrary Theatre on the topic of "Race in America," which he called a “big, scary topic" that the nation responds to with an “accepted script” when confronted with incidents of racial bias.
