Downtown businesses are booming again

After a slow summer, business owners in downtown Elon are breathing a sigh of relief that the students are back. Oak House owner Phil Smith said the coffee shop will make more money this week than in the entire month of July.

Move-in 2018: Global Neighborhood

This morning, the Global Neighborhood, welcomed freshmen with smiles and free Elon gear. Residence Life assistant, and Elon junior, Jasmine Walters, said that the goal of the day was “to show students that they have a community and a sense of belonging.”

Move-in 2018: Colonnades Neighborhood

New students eagerly moved in to the Colonnades Neighborhood this morning. Starting at 7:30 a.m., orientation leaders and resident assistants welcomed the new Elon families in the neighborhood parking lot and helped with check-in, carrying boxes and pushing blue carts.

Move-in 2018: East Neighborhood

Freshman Olivia Mubarek left what she calls her “little bubble” in Newtown, Connecticut,  to move to East Neighborhood and be part of the first-ever group of students to move into these new residence halls.
