When Robin van Persie joined Manchester United in Summer 2012, the Dutch striker said he, “listened to the little boy inside of me — and he screamed Manchester United.” Well, it seems this 30-year-old is still acting like a child. RVP has seemed unhappy at United this year, something he has in common with the rest of the red half of Manchester. Everybody expected a transition period with new manager David Moyes taking over, but nobody expected United to be fighting for a place in the Europa League. RVP has battled through a reoccurring thigh injury, and when he has been healthy, his fitness has been less than stellar.
It was a cool, rainy day at Fetzer Field where the Elon University women’s lacrosse team suffered a 20-5 loss to No.

For many women, there is nothing more frustrating than having a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear. Kim Giles, resources and communications coordinator for Career Services at Elon University, is no exception. A couple years ago, Giles found herself in a fashion rut.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Five months ago, questions surrounded the Elon University women’s basketball team. The Phoenix had to replace 1,000-point scorer Kelsey Evans and 2,000-point scorer Ali Ford. Every semester, Elon University students flock to auditions to try their hands at a cappella. Group singing without instruments has become increasingly popular, so landing a spot in a group is no easy task. According to sophomore Alexis Paul, hundreds of students audition each semester, but fewer than ten are chosen for each group. Seeing that the demand for a cappella groups drastically outweighed the supply, Paul took it upon herself to create a new group, Shirley Tempos. “There is always a demand for more a cappella groups on campus with the popularity of interest,” Paul said. Paul created the all-female group to give girls a greater opportunity to be involved in a cappella.

While it wasn’t the prettiest of games, it still says something that perhaps the most intriguing part of it was the aftermath. After a 4-2 loss to Liberty University at Latham Park March 11, Elon University head coach Mike Kennedy spent more than 15 minutes talking to his team in the outfield. Topic discussed included errors, mental mistakes and the team morale. “Our effort wasn’t good,” Kennedy said.
