Elon University saw an increase in both early decision and early action applications from 2020. Vice President for Enrollment Greg Zaiser wrote in a statement to Elon News Network that the increase in these applications can be attributed to the return of families visiting campus in-person.

Elon University updated the Student Handbook on Sept. 28, changing the university Title IX and sexual misconduct policy section on testimony parties and witnesses. According to Felicia Cenca, HR consultant for HR compliance and Title IX, the university modified their Title IX and sexual misconduct policy to comply with new federal regulations released last year by the U.S. Department of Education. Cenca said the university must comply with federal law and modify their policies and procedures accordingly to follow the new federal regulations surrounding Title IX.

The Elon community is mourning the death of a freshman student who died Monday, Sept. 20. Will Stoneman, a freshman student enrolled at Elon for the fall semester, died at his home in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Elon University Student Government Association met on Sept. 16, 2021 for a business meeting. During the meeting, the newly elected class of 2025 senators and members of SGA appointed to vacant senator positions were sworn in. Members of SGA spoke with two members of the Healthy Elon committee and President of SGA Jack Corby appointed a new chief of staff, junior Chase Solomon.
