According to a tweet from The Blue Crew, former Elon University linebacker Joshua Jones has been invited to the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars rookie mini-camp for a tryout. Spring Game highlights backups, potential game-changers for Phoenix football

It was not a normal college football game for the Elon Phoenix. But they played a game made up of three 12-minute “quarters.” The first two were regular timekeeping while the third used a running clock. The Elon University football team played its annual Spring Game Saturday, and Team “Elon” was victorious 13-0 in what looked like a practice scrimmage in full uniform. The game started slowly, with no first downs until sophomore wide receiver Kierre Brown took a hand-off 16 yards with 4:30 left in the first quarter for “Elon.” “Obviously, we looked a little sluggish out there,” said Jason Swepson, Elon’s head football coach.

Most college football spring games are what my friend Adam Lawson likes to call "glorified practices." And they are. Oh, you'll have the occasional quarterback battle occurring for a big program, as schools like Oklahoma State University that lose big names like Brandon Weeden to the NFL try to sort out their quarterbacking situations (as they just did). But for Elon, the quarterback in charge is set.

HEART offers positive outlet for students coping with grief

While losing a loved one is never easy, it can present a particular set of challenges to college students who must learn to cope with their grief while facing social and academic pressures. HEART, which stands for Helping Elon Actively Remember Together, is a student-run organization that aims to provide students with support during times of tragedy and encourages them to find positive outlets for their grief. Vegetarian cheese lovers, beware.

I love cheese. I am a vegetarian, not a vegan for this reason. However, I was recently told (by my sister, who has been a vegetarian for over 12 years now) that most processed cheeses contain something called animal rennet. So, I did some research.
